AKJ Industries announces University of Kentucky Dept. of Mining Engineering Fellowship

AKJ Industries has initiated a fellowship program with the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Kentucky. Widely recognized as the premier mining program in the country the fellowship will provide the brightest young minds in the field today with AKJ’s real world mining experience and leverage the Department of Mining Engineering’s vast array of testing equipment to further freeze conditioning and dust control research efforts.
The focus will be on making AKJ’s products safer, greener and more effective while building off of the existing break-through AKJ SurfaceBond and EnviroGreen product lines; which already use greener, renewable raw materials.

AKJ introduces innovative line of “GREEN” dust control agents!

DC-2008 is a major advancement in dust control technology. This unique, patented product works by allowing a solution of product to effectively impact dust particles to provide point of application dust suppression. The dust particles are captured by the solution of DC-2008 that then is mixed/settles on larger size pieces of the material being treated. Solutions of DC-2008 resist being “wicked into” the internal surfaces of the larger particles resulting in the applied moisture lasting longer before it dries completely – this provides more effective dust control than products that do not have this feature.
Dust control using DC-2008 does not stop there – when the solution dries it binds the smaller dust particles to larger pieces of material resulting in downstream dust control. DC-2008 is actually “reactivated” when additional moisture is applied or absorbed from the atmosphere. This “reactivation” provides significant advantages in dust control on storage piles
